We must make sure we manage soil properly and not take it for granted.

Why Regenerative?

Regenerative agriculture means resiliency and rejuvenation, at scale. It means healthier soil, improved biodiversity, a better climate, and flourishing rural communities. It means serving both planet and profit while engaging consumers in a compelling story of restoration.

Soil is fundamental to all life on earth. Restoring healthy soil and keeping soil healthy and fertile is essential for the wellbeing of our food system, human health, and climate.

Through our framework for science-driven, practical action on soil health, Soil & Climate Initiative (SCI) is working to rapidly scale acres under regenerative management.

SCI’s 7 Pillars of Regenerative Management

Central to the Farm Standard are the SCI Regenerative Pillars.

The Pillars create Farm resilience by maximizing natural resources and minimizing external inputs while revitalizing Farms. The Pillars align with readily accepted soil health principles and market expectations. These Pillars are key to the SCI Farmer’s field plans and continuous improvement plans. Farmers may address these Pillars in ways that best fit their Farm’s context and needs.

Join Us In Restoring Acres

Let’s work together to engage the entire food supply chain to rapidly scale acres under regenerative management, starting with soil health.
